Short answer: Tell your AI who's eating, what's in your fridge, and who's picky. Ask for five dinners and one shopping list sorted by store aisle. Tweak anything you don't like. Done before the kettle boils.
"What's for dinner?" Three words. Asked every single night. Let's retire them for a week.
Step 1: Tell it about your crew
Plan 5 weeknight dinners for a family of 4. One kid won't eat anything green. My husband is cutting back on carbs. We have 30 minutes max on weeknights. Budget is tight this month.
Step 2: Tell it what you've got
Raid the fridge and pantry. Type it, or snap a photo and attach it if your app allows.
Use these first: half a bag of rice, a pound of ground turkey, eggs, frozen broccoli, two sweet potatoes, a can of black beans, tortillas.
Step 3: Get the plan and the list
Give me the 5 dinners as a simple table: day, meal, cook time. Then make one shopping list of only what I still need, grouped by store section (produce, meat, dairy, pantry). Skip anything I already have.
Want it on your phone? Ask it to make the list short enough to copy into your notes app. Want to print it? Ask for a Word document or a Google Doc.
Step 4: Fix what's not working
Swap Thursday for something the kids can help make.
Wednesday is soccer night. Give me a slow-cooker meal I can start in the morning.
Make Friday a "use up the leftovers" night.
Make it a habit
Save time next week:
- Use memory: tell it once, "Remember: one kid won't eat green food, and we keep dinners under 30 minutes." See Why your AI needs a memory.
- Use a Project: make a "Dinners" Project with your family's favorite meals. See What are Projects for?
