Short answer: Gather the papers, black out account numbers, and share them with your AI. Ask it for one tidy list: what each paper is, any due dates, and what you need to do. Then put the dates in your calendar yourself.
The pile on the kitchen counter. You know the one. Bills, school forms, a warranty for a blender you may no longer own. Let's turn it into one neat list.
Step 1: Gather and snap
Grab the pile. Scan or take clear photos of each page. Many phones can scan to PDF right in the camera or notes app.
Step 2: Black out the private stuff first
Before you share anything, cover up:
- account and card numbers,
- Social Security numbers,
- passwords and PINs,
- your kids' birthdays and ID numbers.
A marker on paper works. So does the markup tool on your phone. Takes 30 seconds. Worth it.
Step 3: Ask for the list
Attach the files (most apps take PDFs and photos), then paste:
Here are photos of my paperwork. Make one table with these columns: what it is, who it's from, due date or deadline, amount (if any), and what I need to do. Sort it by due date, soonest first. If you can't read something, say so. Don't guess.
Step 4: Ask the follow-up questions
Which of these can I probably throw away after I deal with it?
Write a short, polite email asking the school to resend the field trip form.
Which warranties are still active, based on the dates?
Step 5: You do the doing
AI makes the list. You pay the bills, sign the forms, and put dates in your calendar. If your AI can add calendar items for you, keep it on "ask me first."
